After a break of more than three years, Strych:9 released a new music video for the single “Discorgy” from their upcoming album.
“Discorgy is a track that was actually completed years ago and was largely inspired by the evolution of my personal music taste. With this song, I wanted to convey more of a party atmosphere and create a nightlife feeling for the listener — something that can be enjoyed even if you’re not necessarily a fan of heavy music. It’s exactly the kind of musical blend that originally drew me toward metal music and what I myself would like to experience. Lyrically, we chose a theme that is very human, close, and familiar to everyone — sex. It’s always easy to joke about that topic, but it’s quite a challenge to write lyrics about it poetically without feeling embarrassed or awkward yourself,” says the band’s vocalist, Kapa.
The band’s guitarist Ants added: “We’ve spent several years working on new music and visuals, which we’ve already introduced a few times to audiences in Estonia and Finland during our concerts. While our first album was musically very heavy and maintained a dark tone, the new full-length record will definitely be much more multifaceted and significantly moodier — in our opinion, Discorgy is one of the best examples of that.”
